DALE Duncan is revved up and Ready to rock. The Tamworth singer/songwriter this week announced plans to record his debut album at the renowned Top Cat Studios, Alstonville, in April and though there's still a month wait more than 2500 copies of the CD have been ordered. Titled A Trucker's Life, the album will feature 10 originally penned and co-written tracks and is a tribute to the dedicated truck drivers who have lost their lives on the road. Dale will be heading to the studio with his band Santa Fe who have a strong following throughout the north-west. The band, who have been playing together for five years comprises Paul Harris on lead guitar, Steve Crane on rhythm guitar, Bill Baldwin on bass and Paul Swan on drums. Dale said he was approached to record the album at the recent Tamworth Truck Drivers Memorial. The entertainer has performed at the previous three memorials. "At the Truck Drivers Memorial last year I performed one of my original songs Guardian Angel to about 400 people", Dale said. "Everyone gave the song the thumbs up. There was such an overwhelming response to the song that many of those attending the memorial wanted to buy my CD and I didn't even have one. "Not long after I was approached by president and co-ordinator of the Truck Drivers Association Memorial Rick Lay to record an album dedicated to the truck driver industry. "I jumped at the opportunity".

He said sales from the 10 track CD would go back into the Tamworth Truck Drivers Memorial to help those families who had lost loved one during their duties on the road. "Col Finley will be making a special trip to Tamworth later this month where he'll sit down with me and write a couple of tracks for the album," Dale said. "I'm pretty excited about this project and things are going really well leading up to when we head into the studio. "We've already got 2500 copies of the album on back order and we've not even released it yet. "We haven't even finished it yet. We're still putting the finishing touches to it before heading into the studio next month." Dale said details on the release of the album would be available early May.

In the meantime Dale can be seen performing some of his original material as well as covers throughout the north-west at a number of venues. He will also be joined by Col Finley on stage when he arrives in Tamworth later this month.
